We are leaving Cart 17, plate 4194 plugged because of the guider problem. Someone needs to look at this data to see if plate 4194 is done. If so, please notify the pluggers with a replacement plate. The FF screen is making a binding noise when it closes. The sound is coming from the bottom pedals with the scope is at 121,30 mount We had a guider problem at the start, which Craig fixed. No time was lost. We are getting some RED waveMid values for B2 in SOS althogh the they seem to be in spec: see log. We still have some vibration in the scope when slewing to field and instChange while the az and rot axes are moving together. With respect to last night's DIMM problem, the keyboard/mouse may be the problem. I (Howard) noticed that I could start the DIMM software by just moving the curser to the DIMM icon. In other words, I did not need to click the icon to start the program; I just moused over the icon. We noticed that SOS has a RED value for waveMid on B2. We checked the checked an old Science Plan and found the following: The nominal WAVEMID values are: b1 r1 b2 r2 4908 7987 4995 8071 The tolerance is +/- 5 (yellow) and +/- 10 (red). The waveMid value displayed by SOS for B2 was 5000, so the value should be YELLOW and in spec. Dmitry said that a ticket had been filed on this problem. 01:38Z Twilight Seeing was about 1.0" to 1.5" per the DIMM. We had a problem with this field. The guide stars never center in the fibers. We made sure the axes box in guider GUI was clicked and that scope was tracking normally in each axis. We adjusted the scale and tried disabling the worse fibers, but nothing helped. The S/N values were understandable low, and we had poor seeing during some of the exposures as well. This field was observed the previous night, I'm guessing, without any problems. We did not get any errors, which indicated a problem. However, it turned out that the guider flat failed. Seeing was at about 1.75" per the DIMM. This field was out of focus on gotoField. After focus, fibers 04 and 06 were disabled because they were donuts. With the preCalibs on this plate, the exposures were reversed for the arc and flat, i.e., the arc was 30 seconds; the flat was 4 seconds. So, we did another set of calibs after the first science exposure. We are not sure why this happened. We also did a sos_redo, which did not work.
