APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Tuesday December 11, 2001 (MJD 52255) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Atsuko Nitta Kleinman (APO) - swing & Mex. food & cake Daniel Long (APO) - night - salmon quesadillas Steph Snedden (APO) - night visitors: --------- Jurek Krzesinski (APO) - Z(h)urek soup Pete Newman (APO) - pizza John Barentine (APO) - Thai shrimp ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science, following the usual observing strategies ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- High humidity & snow kept us closed all night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon checkout went normally. After our afternoon snowstorm, Dan discovered that the west side enclosure brushes didn't do a very good job of keeping the snow out. He removed about 4 gallons of snow from the enclosure (2 buckets full) near the west door. We had partly cloudy skies early, but the humidity was too high, and there was too much snow on the enclosure. At 07:00 UT, it clouded up again. By 10:00 UT, it was snowing again. By 12:00 UT it was snowing hard. We cleared the walks, and scooped up the snow in the enclosure by the west brushes again, then called it a night. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Stripe Flavor Lambda Last Begin End Frame Comments ------------------------------------------------------------------ 2770 100 O ignore 149.54 -160.63 34 p.m. checkout ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument getclock Az Alt Rot Scale ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: n/a Stays: n/a ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 16:01 25 25 15 248 (WSW) 1346 - Cloudy, Fog 17:01 25 24 15 265 (W) 690 - Cloudy, Fog 18:01 26 24 14 243 (WSW) 451 - Cloudy, Fog 19:08 23 20 18 263 (W) 385 - Cloudy 19:40 22 20 19 259 (W) 423 - Mostly Cloudy 20:14 21 19 15 239 (WSW) 415 - Partly Cloudy 20:45 20 18 18 238 (WSW) 403 - Partly Cloudy 21:17 21 19 18 241 (WSW) 474 - Partly Cloudy 21:49 21 19 21 215 (SW) 436 - Partly Cloudy 22:22 21 19 21 225 (SW) 428 - Partly Cloudy 22:54 22 20 23 226 (SW) 457 - Mostly Cloudy 23:26 22 21 20 248 (WSW) 404 - Mostly Cloudy 23:58 22 21 18 229 (SW) 1211 - Cloudy, Fog 00:48 22 21 24 226 (SW) 268 - Cloudy, Fog 01:19 22 20 24 231 (SW) 350 - Cloudy, Snow 01:52 22 20 25 255 (WSW) 120 - Cloudy, Snow 02:23 22 20 16 274 (W) 149 - Cloudy, Flurries 02:55 22 20 17 244 (WSW) 16 - Cloudy, Snow 03:29 21 18 22 267 (W) 11 - Cloudy, Snow 04:01 20 18 18 243 (WSW) 933 - Cloudy, Snow 04:32 19 18 21 241 (WSW) 155 - Cloudy, Snow 05:04 18 16 27 228 (SW) 220 - Cloudy, Snow ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Never opened.
