Plates 1186 and 0964 were declared done before we closed at 09:45Z because of high humidity. We had no problems with the enclosure or flat field screen. 11:25Z enclosure re-opened; this time we had a problem with the enclosure's drive system. See problem section for details. Plate 1002 was also declared done. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- 06:30Z Enclosure's doors opened and fans on 06:40Z Enclosure opened. 06:47Z cart#5, plate 1186 mounted. Fk5 used to find guide stars. FK5 about 12 arcseconds away in azimuth. Seeing variable 1.3" at best 2.2" at worst, on time scales of 5 - 10 minutes. 07:20Z Clouds lurking on eastern horizon at elevations up to 15 - 20 degrees. Fairly humid, but better than the first half of the night, depression now 4 - 5 C. Seeing worsened during the second exposure, hovering around 1.8 to 2.0". Plate done when combined with last night's data. 08:02Z cart#6, plate 0964 mounted. Cleared offsets to find guide stars; Seeing 1.8" - 2.0" 08:30Z Clouds in NE receding, clouds popping up in SW below about 15 deg now. 09:00Z Clouds gone, but seeing poor now ( 2.5 - 3.0" ). Hope third exposure makes it. Done in three exposures. 09:45Z enclosure closed. 11:23Z enclosure re-opened with cart#8, plate 1002 mounted. No stars on slew; Fk5 used to locate guide stars. Efficiency 50-70% and seeing ~2.0" Plate done in three exposures. endNight rejoiced ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 03:43 17916 0.0 bias ----- sequence 17917, plate 1186 ------- 13.2 10.3 13.9 14.3 05:06 17917 10.0 flat 9.9 5.5 9.2 7.0 ( 52645 ) 05:08 17918 2.0 arc -------------------- 05:21 17919 38.8 target 23.1 15.8 23.1 21.3 Done 07:11 17920 10.0 flat 07:13 17921 2.0 arc 07:31 17922 900.1 target 07:49 17923 900.1 target 07:57 17924 240.0 smear ----- sequence 17925, plate 964 ------- 23.9 16.5 21.2 17.3 Done 08:16 17925 10.0 flat 08:19 17926 2.0 arc 08:37 17927 900.1 target 08:55 17928 900.1 target 09:18 17929 1200.1 target 09:26 17930 240.0 smear ----- sequence 17931, plate -9999 ------- 10:29 17931 0.0 bias ----- sequence 17932, plate 1002 ------- 11:34 17932 10.0 flat 11:37 17933 2.0 arc 11:55 17934 900.1 target 12:15 17935 1000.1 target 12:34 17936 1000.1 target 12:42 17937 240.0 smear 12:51 17938 10.0 flat 12:53 17939 2.0 arc ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 07:18Z 5 1186 35.20 0.0024 57.16 0.0004 209.03 -0.0084 1.000210 08:27Z 6 964 129.88 0.0004 56.98 -0.0016 -76.36 -0.0161 1.000040 11:41Z 8 1002 -25.03 0.0033 62.08 0.0017 158.93 -0.0006 1.000140 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL5889 Stays: JL5890 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 07:19Z 5 1186 1.00021 -2073 -627 -70 35 57.2 -0.7 10 177 grd 1.4 08:26Z 6 0964 1.00004 -394 804 -30 130 56.8 -1.3 15 144 1.8 11:46Z 8 1002 1.00014 -1381 -126 -130 -28 61.6 0.8 2 155 2.0 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:42Z 25 24 16 88 (E) 234 - 01:18Z 24 23 13 86 (E) 222 - 01:50Z 24 23 19 71 (ENE) 200 - 02:22Z 24 23 19 78 (ENE) 163 - 02:55Z 24 23 15 83 (E) 158 - 03:27Z 24 23 8 104 (ESE) 148 - 03:59Z 24 23 13 113 (ESE) 182 - 04:30Z 24 23 12 81 (E) 178 - 05:03Z 24 23 13 82 (E) 198 - 05:35Z 24 22 10 110 (ESE) 213 - 06:07Z 28 21 10 142 (SE) 334 - 06:39Z 30 21 11 161 (SSE) 444 - 07:11Z 31 21 6 181 (S) 416 - 07:43Z 30 22 15 153 (SSE) 410 - 08:14Z 29 23 17 154 (SSE) 400 - 08:44Z 29 23 12 138 (SE) 385 - 09:16Z 29 24 12 150 (SSE) 457 - 09:47Z 28 24 8 144 (SE) 548 - 10:49Z 29 24 7 84 (E) 521 - 11:21Z 33 19 0 125 (SE) 473 - 11:53Z 33 19 10 159 (SSE) 458 - 12:23Z 33 18 10 146 (SE) 501 - 12:53Z 36 17 11 143 (SE) 669 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- High humidity and clouds kept us closed in the early part of the evening. 06:30Z enclosure's doors opened and fans on. 06:40Z enclosure opened. 09:45Z enclosure closed because of high humidity. 11:23Z enclosure opened. 13:14Z enclosure closed and fans on. ---=== SOFTWARE USED ===--- IOP/SOP: v3_98_0 Watcher: v2_20_0 MCP: v5_17_0 TPM: tpm_v2_19_0 AstroDa: v14_47 TCC: 2.6.8 sdssProcedures:v1_60 SoS: v4_9_13 hoggPT: v1_5_8 plate-mapper: v4_1_0 ---=== MIRROR NUMBERS ===--- PRIMARY: -------- Scale: 1.000000 MIGS TONIGHT NOMINAL Axial A 0.0870 0.0790 Axial B 0.7990 0.7970 Axial C 0.8190 0.8240 Trans D -9.0780 -9.1130 Lateral E 1.8420 1.8870 Lateral F 0.0000 1.4300 GALILS Commanded: 5400. -3700. 900. -200. 31550. 30650.
