The results are interesting- see the log and the problem section. Due to blown snow in the air we never open tonight. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift: During day shift, I checked the focus of the spectrographs; both red cameras were reported by IDL as out-of-focus. Before making any focus adjustments, however, I tried different Rot and Alt positions. Although Alt seemed to have no affect, the focus of sp1 did changed with Rot position. And, I was able to repeat the change (see problems section). I also saved all of my focus results on sdss_commish in /home/observer/focus. At the time of these focus procedures, ambient temp= 1.57C. The final col-motor numbers (A to C) were: sp1=182, 182, -1021 ; sp2=1076, 1077, 1076. Night shift: There was blown snow in the air.
