Finished 3 plates (1366, 1373, 1463). Usable data on another plate (1379). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Definitely not your average afternoon check. A power glitch managed to take down one of the UPSs in the computer room. It powered the network, the phones, the TCCs. Afternoon check completed successfully with much thanks to Craig for chasing down and fixing various computer ills after things came back up. Spectrographs needed a bit of a focus change. Changed both by +3000. See problem section for details. Night: ------ Completely overcast at sunset. Jurek noticed an error message being issued after the spectrographs were checked by the server. The details are in the Problems section. Jurek dropped the instruments and then grabbed them again. This seemed to solve the problem. In anticipation of an upcoming break in the clouds, we opened the enclosure at 0745Z to a mostly cloudy sky. Plate 1366 (cartridge 1): FK5 needed to acquire the guide stars. After the clouds finally cleared this plate was finished in 3 exposures (2700 sec total). Plate 1373 (cartridge 9): Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (2220 sec total). Plate 1463 (cartridge 2): Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (2640 sec total). Jurek lost his tcc connection in the sop window while the cartridge was being changed. Details are in the Problems section. Plate 1379 (cartridge 6): Guide stars on the gotoField. We obtained one 900 sec exposure in early twilight.
