APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Saturday April 10, 2004 (MJD 53106) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Dan Long John Barentine ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Bad weather in the form of an April snowstorm kept us closed tonight. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Spectro focus checked. All were in spec. Azimuth fiducials were not reading during afternoon check. A couple slews yielded no crossings. Wiping the read head with isopropyl cleared the problem. All fiducials crossed from then on were read. An extra dewar was placed in the enclosure in case tonight's storm makes it difficult or impossible to wheel one in tomorrow afternoon. Be aware that it is in the SW corner of the enclosure. It should be clear of the telescope, but check before moving in azimuth. Night: ------ Snow started shortly before sun set. We shut things down early as it looked like the heavy snow forecast earlier was actually on the way. endNight was run on the Cloudy night tapes. I left the site to avoid getting stuck in the storm. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4544 22:36Z 22:55Z 100 O -112.34 -107.42 46 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n):y QA Procedures Done (y/n):y UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 26018, plate -9999 ------- 22:36 26018 0.0 bias ----- sequence 26019, plate 1394 ------- 22:45 26019 10.0 flat 22:48 26020 2.0 arc 22:53 26021 2.1 arc 22:55 26022 2.1 arc ----- sequence 26023, plate -9999 ------- 23:07 26023 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JLCloudy 1 Stays: JLCloudy 2 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 22:22Z 37 33 16 259 (W) 336 - Cloudy 22:55Z 37 33 12 267 (W) 317 - Cloudy 23:27Z 35 32 14 264 (W) 396 - Cloudy 23:58Z 30 30 11 270 (W) 860 - Snow 00:31Z 30 30 10 186 (S) 305 - Lt Snow 01:01Z 30 30 15 210 (SSW) 442 - Lt Snow 01:31Z 30 30 5 177 (S) 452 - Cloudy 02:04Z 30 30 13 72 (ENE) 176 - Cloudy 02:36Z 27 25 14 82 (E) 12 - Cloudy 03:08Z 25 23 16 71 (ENE) 31 - Flurries 03:40Z 24 22 20 73 (ENE) 323 - Snow 05:21Z 24 21 6 100 (E) 98 - Snow 05:53Z 23 21 8 81 (E) 111 - Snow 06:25Z 23 21 9 83 (E) 64 - Snow 07:02Z 23 21 6 76 (ENE) 111 - Snow 07:34Z 22 21 12 75 (ENE) 39 - Snow 08:06Z 22 21 11 75 (ENE) 30 - Snow ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Enclosure never opened.
