Finished 39S, Lambda 18.2 to 56 We think that the alt fiducials have a problem, i.e., only the 60 and 75 degree fiducials are reading properly. We are still getting the dewar communication faults in Watcher; see problems section for the error message. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon =========== Telescope had no cartridge or imager mounted. I mounted cart3 plt1680,but a bit worried that the cartridge is much warmer than the telescope/spectrographs since inside the enclosure is around 16C while the cartridge bay is much warmer (it has no AC). The outside temp. is about 25C when I mounted the cartridge on the telescope. spectro collimation checked at: tpm_TM_PMSSAvg 16.6979 tpm_TM_TelairAvg.VALA 16.1425 It turns out that there was no need to adjust collimation although close to the edge of the tolerance. Scot found the bump switch interlock (west door) was bypassed. Since he unbypassed it since it seemed to work properly. Night ============ 02:34Z There were thin clouds at sunset, so we started with Spectro. 02:45Z Cart 03, plate 1680 (chunk85). We used an Fk5 star to find the field in bright twilight, but we had to clear the offsets. Seeing imagingDetails. 08:32Z There was a huge (glob-type) star cluster (M 92) in the r-chip of dewar_6 (frame 208, Lambda 44.1). We noticed that only the 60 and 75 degree (alt) fiducials were reading properly. We are still getting the Dewar Communication Faults in Watcher; see the problems section for the error message. Because of the weather forecast for tomorrow night, we left the imager mounted. The photo_robot is reporting, "No space left on device."
