APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Thursday February 10, 2005 (MJD 53412) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Atsuko Nitta (swing) Scot Kleinman Howard Brewington ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- Clouds, clouds, more clouds and humidity, so we never opened. We had a critical error via Watcher, vis., ion_pump_pr ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon ============= The weather map look very unpromising for tonight. Iop takes a very long time to start up. So we decided to poolInit. This helped. The iop session after the poolInit at reasonably speed. The first arc in the afternoon showed red in number of lines detected for both r chips. 20 lines for r1 and 22 lines for r2. Re-took another arc. This arc showed normal number of lines detected (38, 39 for r1 and r2). I have no idea why the first one did not find as many lines. Given the weather and humidity and differences in enclosure and outside air temperture, I decided not to check collimation. THe postCalib shows that all is well at enclosure at 6.8C. When endDrifting afternoon imager bias in the doghouse (run 5153), I got the following message telling me about a bias run 5152's makerunlog process failed. Since this must be a bias taken by day crew (JB? Craig?), it is not important that the runlog is not created. runlog for run 5153 was created successfully. im> endDrift 2005-02-10 23:36:43Z: stopping drift with: iccExec id1 id2 id3 id4 id5 id6 ad1 a d2 ad3 ad4 readoutEnd 2005-02-10 23:37:17Z: closed shutters 2005-02-10 23:37:17Z: endData completed Flavor of this run (science, bias, calibration, engineering, ignore, help) [bias]: ignore Stripe, Strip (e.g, 22,N or SS,N) [100,O]: Mountain estimate of the overall data quality (unknown, bad, acceptable, good) [unknown]: leap seconds = 32 Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5152 17:06Z 19:38Z 100 O 106.53 144.71 269 ignore 5153 23:15Z 23:37Z 100 O -160.83 -155.39 50 ignore Doing a cameraDetach spawning makeRunLog makeRunLog failed for run 5152. We had clouds and high humidity, so we never opened. endNight finished and was happy. Misc.
