Good data on the other plate (2074). Problems during shutdown: 1) Dimm software froze in the control room but was still working at the telescope. 2) The Dimm cover did not have enough air pressure to close and had to be assisted by hand. 3) The imager shutter pressure which normally reads 80 was showing 70 shortly after we closed. It climbed back to 80 after a few minutes. Are items 2) and 3) related? Perhaps these are problems related to work being done in the cone area? Could someone please check this out? ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing: =============== I copied /astrolog/MJD directories from the bright time to /skycat/oplogs/astrolog. Because of the spectro problems from last night, I rebooted the spectro crate this afternoon. I also had to reboot PHOTO-2 since id5-1 wanted to be cleaned again; I replaced the tape as well. I checked the spectro focus but did not adjust it. The spectro focus numbers are in the Problems Section. After I did a grabInst -drop, Dan did a spectro bias and discoverd that the promlem from last night had returned, i.e., bias of sp1 was not displayed on the monitor because the spectro-crate was unhappy again. So, we rebooted it again. Night: =============== Clouds clearing shortly after sunset. We begin with spectrosdopy. Plate 2074 (cartridge 3): Segue faint. Guide stars on the gotoField. We obtained 3 exposures (3600 sec total) but did not finish this plate before a higher priority survey plate became available. SoS warned of a whopping fiber. The call for the postCal came too late. Plate 1949 (cartridge 9): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (3000 sec total). Plate 1998 (cartridge 2): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (2500 sec total). The sky was clear but we did not switch to imaging because we were not certain it would remain photometric for at least 2 hours. Plate 1980 (cartridge 1): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. When combined with data from last night (53432), this plate was finished in a single 900 sec exposure. Plate 1984 (cartridge 6): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. When combined with data from last night (53432), this Orwellian plate was finished in 2 exposures (2000 sec total). The sky is still photometric but the seeing is highly variable so we stay with spectroscopy. Plate 1668 (cartridge 8): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (3100 sec total). Plate 1669 (cartridge 7): Survey. Guide stars on the gotoField. Finished in 3 exposures (3100 sec total). SoS issued a max sky residual warning. Plate 2027 (cartridge 5): Survey. Guide stars after the altitude offset was corrected. When combined with data from a previous night (53431), this plate was finished in a single 900 sec exposure. SoS issued a max sky residual warning. Plate 1678 (cartridge 4): Survey. Guide stars after the altitude offset was corrected. We finished this plate and got some bonus signal with 4 exposures (4800 sec total). SoS issued 3 max sky residual warnings. endNight rejoiced.
