A combination of clouds, high humidity, wind and blowing snow kept us closed all night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- No problems with afternoon check. Spectrograph focus checked and adjusted to compensate for cooler predicted temperatures overnight. Was set for 6 C. Now set for 3 C. See problem section for details. Night: ------ Snow started falling just before sunset. At about 03:00Z, the snow stopped with approx. 1/2 inch on the ground, but we had blowing snow and high humidity to contend with. 10:00Z The humidity finally started to drop. We went out to prepare to open, saw that there was still blowing snow and changed our minds. 10:08Z Started ventilating in hopes that we could get the mirrors below freezing so blowing snow wouldn't melt on the mirrors. We didn't think we would have time to achieve this, but thought we'd at least try. 10:40Z We officially gave up and ran endNight on the cloudy night tapes. Watcher complained about disk space on /skycat.
