'host was not rebooted, but cleanupMurmur was run instead. We are Dan-less (he's running a fever), so we recruited Bill as an observer. I must say he was pretty cheerful about it until we told him he would have to write the log. Still, we are grateful for his help, since all the available observers have already worked full shifts. No spectro focus adjust made. Gretchen organized an aloha dinner for Scot and Atsuko. The Menu: Pu-Pu platter Green salad Papaya coleslaw Hawaiian bread Purple rice with almond slivers Hawaiian shish-kebab sweet potatoes with coconut cake pie Martinelli's sparkling cider No doubt I missed something on the menu. It was all very tasty. ---------- It was mostly cloudy at sunset. At first, it looked like the clouds might clear, so we waited rather than start imager cals right away. No weather luck, so we started setup for imager cals. There was a delay when MSP communication failed during checkout (no reply to the ping). After some flailing, a power-cycle of the transceiver fixed the communication problem. u5 uLeak QE measurements: ------------------------ Run 5445 Frame flavor lambda exp. time counts range Notes 1 bias-init 2 bias 3 dark 4 dark 5 dark 10 1200-1250 6 dark 70 1130-1150 7 calib 360 30 4000-4200 annular pattern 8 calib 370 30 5000-5200 " 9 calib 380 30 5000-5200 " 10 calib 450 30 1130-1150 Diff pattern, 11 calib 500 30 1130-1170 brighter at 12 calib 550 30 1130-1180 edges, corners 13 calib 600 30 1130-1170 " 14 calib 640 30 1140-1190 " 15 calib 660 30 1140-1200 " 16 calib 680 30 1150-1230 " 17 calib 690 30 1200-1300 " 18 calib 700 30 1200-1500 annular pattern 19 calib 710 30 1220-1600 re-emerging 20 calib 720 30 1220-1680 " 21 calib 730 30 1220-1630 " 22 calib 740 30 1210-1420 " 23 bias/dark 70 1130-1160 24 bias/dark 10 1130-1150 25 calib 750 30 1240-1480 " 26 calib 760 30 1330-1940 " 27 calib 765 30 1650-2300 " 28 calib 770 30 1820-2100 " 29 calib 774 30 1130-1160 looks like bias 30 calib 778 30 1300-1380 *ping error 4* 31 calib 782 30 1320-1520 back to edge 32 calib 786 30 1300-1470 & corner 33 calib 790 30 1290-1480 pattern 34 calib 795 30 1280-1460 " 35 calib 800 30 1280-1410 " 36 calib 810 30 1200-1290 " 37 calib 820 30 1170-1250 " 38 calib 830 30 1160-1250 " 39 calib 850 30 1150-1250 " 40 calib 870 30 1140-1240 " 41 calib 900 30 1150-1250 " 42 calib 950 30 1150-1230 " 43 bias/dark 70 1140-1170 44 bias/dark 10 1130-1150 Ummmm, Scot. That didn't take 1.5 hours. More like 2.5. Also, at the end of the calibration, I was unable to ping the MSP. I assume that happened at the time of the "ping error 4". At that time, the Watcher also sent this message: dead (Frame=31 Row=2069: 2005-07-12 09:13:34Z) In spite of that, the script appeared to finish normally and all the files were copied to /data/photo/doi/calibdata, and contained good frames. I was able to run qestat, but not qeplot. After editing the list of files to remove entries with zero exposure times, I had a list with no biases or darks and qeplot failed with Error: can't read "bmjd1": no such variable From the source code, it looks like it failed when trying to do the bias subtraction. Not surprising since there were no biases left in the list. During the hour before twilight, the clouds dissipated. I had a choice of finishing the imager uLeak measurements for u5 or mounting a cartridge and opening in time to get one short exposure. I opted to finish the imager calibration. After the calibration, I put the t-bars back to "doghouse" and closed up. I also ran a normal imager bias without problems. endNight -doTpm finished normally. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5444 00:45Z 01:10Z 100 O 10.61 16.67 45 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): QA Procedures Done (y/n): UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL Stays: JL ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:53Z 67 33 14 57 (ENE) 720 - cloudy 01:26Z 67 32 11 64 (ENE) 660 - cloudy 01:58Z 67 32 17 65 (ENE) 697 - cloudy 02:30Z 65 35 18 35 (NE) 693 - cloudy ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 01:30Z (approx.)
