Please let us know if they are done or if we need to observe them more times. Next couple of nights are SN so we don't need new plates at the moment (however if we need to observe them again we need to tell SN guys about the plan and ask their permission to do that). We also finished plate 2266. SN 82 S: done from lambda: 132 -> -123 including the ramps. Problems: - all exposures on plate 2333 got PLATEID set to 0 (see the log). Endnight sees that plate as 0 as well. - apoplotsky is not working for M71 science exposures (see the log). - ad1 then all astrometric ads died at the end of our SN scan (see the log). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- The checkout was uneventful. The spectro focus was checked and found to be in spec. So, I made no adjustments. While doing an imager bias, Watcher complained about id1 and id4 with the following message: dsc E archTaskErr Archive task error: FTP connection is hung. (dsc_E_archTaskErr Archive task error: FTP connection is hung. : 2005-11-04 21:29:09Z) Other misc Watcher messages are in the Problem Section. The SDSS camera bellows presure was at 44-psi today. Night: ----------- We'll wait for the wind to slow down before we'll open dimm telescope. SPECTROSCOPY: ------------- 00:53Z cart 4 plt 2333 mounted. fk5 star used to center the telescope in the twilight. Fiber #3 has no guide star and we have 2 stars in fiber #5. Seeing is good ~1.2". First two exposures started in twilight. ERROR: SOS shows the plate number 0 instead 2333. We used idl apofix command to correct fits file PLATEID keyword from 0 -> 2333 and rereduced the spectra. Five 4 minute exposures done + postcalib. WARNING: NGOODFIBER is in red on r1,b1,r2,b2 for that plate. 02:05Z cart 8 plt 2338 mounted. GSOGTF. The guide stars are exactly a the same positions as on previous plate, but this time we see a star in a fiber #3 (Why?). Fiber #3 disabled. NGOODFIBER is yellow on all chips. It seems to us that on this plate the guide stars are not centerd in the fibers as well as on 2333 one. The seeing got worse it's ~2". Four 10 minute exposures done for this plate + postcalib. Science ends at frame 711, lambda -125. 10:41Z VME error ad1 - no response (ad1 screen turned to blue). 10:46Z the rest of ads died (stopped drifting). Almost at the end of the drift Ramp ands at frame 725, -123. 10:48Z astrometric crate rebooted.
