We obtained ditchered flats, imager flats, taken a set of bias, flat, arc exposures for IR scattering test. Powered down DIMM. Tested MCP on sdsshost2, more work is needed on the MCP test. plates: 2270, 2106, 2291 done. one of Ne lamps was replaced. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Spectro collimation was checked but no adjustment was made. The collimation is set for a temperature that is colder than the current temperature but if things cool off tonight, it should be fine. A postCal showed all the x/wsigma values to still be in spec although 4 of the 8 values are in the yellow. The PT is not operational. PR 6802 was filed. See the PT log for details. No other problems to report. Night: ------ --Shakeup-- Because of the Moon, we dedicated the first half of the night to the shakeup: The DIMM was powered down. Testing MCP on host2: Craig worked hard, but still have more work to do. Dithered flats: A set of dithered flats with plate 2314 mounted is obtained. We ran the new regular shakeup task, specFlat 15. The dithered flats are in /data/spectro/53714 frames 35418 through 35432. We had a problem with the arc frames, because only three of the neon lamps came on. We did three arc exposures that we hope Craig will find useful. The first one was a three second arc, but unfortunately with only the Ne lamps on (frame 35433). The next was a three second arc with 3 Ne lamps and 4 HgCd lamps on (frame 35434) and a 2 second arc with 3 Ne and 4 HgCd lamps. Problems: -- During the process, A bug in specFlats is found: If one tries to take dithered flats without loading a cartridge, SOP says " No plate ID, exiting", and takes no flats, but continues to move the collimator until the loop is finished. A PR is files against SOP. -- one of four Ne lamps burns out and was changed. imager flats: Run 5942 on-telescope bias. checkBias output: im> checkBias 5942 30 . {61 WARN: } {61 FAIL: leftRNComp } {63 WARN: } {63 FAIL: leftRNComp } biasCheck output is in the problem section. Seeing is about 1.6". starts first science explosure at 11:50Z.
