Finished plates 2235, 1775, and a little bit of signal on plate 1817. CO2 cleaning should be at French's discretion. We were in the enclosure for part of the night. Integrated dust counts were 23,000 "dust-hours" when we were open. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- No Problems found durning the checkout. Night: ---------- It looked like we might be able to squeeze in one plate before clouds would get us, so we started ventilating, even though dust was at the 3 K level. 01:40Z - Opened for spectroscopy with: Cartridge 7, plate 2235 (Legacy chunk 119) ------------------------------------------ We got set up on the field then had two (apparently unrelated?) problems occur. We had a spectro bias readout hang and had to reboot the spectro crate. The bias that hung on readout is frame 38717 and looked like a piecewise composite of different camera biases in all four of the fits images. The next images after the reboot were fine. We then had an apparent timeout between the guider and the tcc, which resulted in the guider mac not being able to write to any of the gimg files. We resolved this with a guider mac reboot and a set inst. We lost about 30 minutes to both problems. Got two good exposures on the plate before increasing clouds killed our efficiency. 04:40Z - Closed due to clouds and to lessen exposure to dust. 07:03Z - Reopened after the clouds cleared somewhat, and went back to cartridge 7. Guide stars were just off edges of fibers. A 5 asec azimuth shift brought them back into the fibers. Declared done in a total exposure time of 2700 s. 07:32Z - Cartridge 2, plate 1775 (Legacy chunk 92) -------------------------------------------------- Needed an FK5 to find the field. Plate declared done with a total exposure time of 2400 s. 08:37Z - Cartridge 9, plate 1817 (Legacy chunk 94) GSOGTF. Clouds came in during the first exposure. We ended the exposure, read it out, and it was just above )S/N)**2 > 2.
