Problems: 1) ad2 dead during on-telescope bias run. 2) ad4 dead during another on-telescope bias run, and normal reboot could not get it back. Power cycle astro crates got it back. 3) we are not sure if the focus loop is working properly (see log). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon Checkout: -------------------- 00:45 Z. Clouds, partly clear, but very high humidity. The temperature is 7.6 C, wind up to 3 mph, humidity 89.5%. All systems are checked and work fine. Spectro focus has been checked and adjusted for 7C. The spectro bias, flat, and arc look normal. Night: ------ 01:45Z high humidity. 02:50Z mounted imager, encloure off. 03:10Z, tcc time out, took a few minutes to get it back. 03:16Z run 6391. 82 N. Focus looked good on displays started at frame 16 (lambda 112.7), but focus loop showed that we were not in focus till frame ~40. most likely, this is because the telescope is NOT in the equilibrium since no ventilating was started before opening (due to high humidity). Skippy was happy, seeing was good from the begining. At 03:45Z dewpoint went below 3.0 C. At 03:52Z dewpoint down to 2.7C, a physical check on DIMM telescope indicated that the surface started to get wet, so we decided to end the scan (at 03:58Z). End ramp at frame 76 (lambda 121.6). Is focus loop works properly? Howard adjusted focus manually according to imagers on displays and got it very close to where it should be. But it still took 25 min for focus loop to settle it down. Is this due to the fact that telescope is not in equilibium or some problem in the focus loop itself (because we had the same problem a few nights ago)?. 04:05Z enclusre on. 04:37Z run 6392. on-telescope bias. declared ignore and bad because ad2 dead during the go-drift. 04:49Z ad2 dead. reboot astro crate. 05:07Z run 6393. On-telescope bias. At frame 42, we had the error message of dsc E writeFail Write failed to 6393 42.93 (dsc_E_writeFail Write failed to 6393 42.93 : 2006-09-25 05:29:46Z). Ended drift and decalred this run ignore and bad. rebooting astro crates does not do anything good on this. Then Jon Brinkman was called, he had us tried a few things before power cycled (power switch located on the back of the astro crate).
