Finished two plates: 2768 and 2555, got singals on two plates: 1791 and1725. French gave us a tour on emergency close procedures in the evening. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- All systems checked and working. Didn't make any adjustments to the spectro focus. According to 'collimate' they are set for ~11C using cart 2 (last night 'collimate' showed them to be set at ~9-10C using cart 3). Night: ----- 03:00Z cart 2, plate 1791 (chunk). FK5 was used to find guiding stars. 03:20Z pre_calib. 03:35Z started 15-min exposure. Clouds come in. Seeing at 1.7" and unstable, 1.2-3.0", then to 4.0" at last two exposure. We acquired three 20 min good exposure on this plate. The last two 25-min exposure were deckared as BAD. The plate was not done yet due to the bad seeing which was the killer tonight. 05:50Z cart 5, plate 2768 (chunk). GSOTF. Seeing at 2.2". The plate was DONE with two 20-min exposure, and combined with signals from mjd 54259. 06:50Z cart 6, plate 1725 (chunk). GSOGTF. Seeing at 2.0". We got three 20-min exposure on this plate. The plate was not done yet. 08:20Z cart 8, plate 2555 (SEGUE). FK5 used for the field. Seeing at 2.3". Because seeing was a variable tonight and we did not have time to switch to another cartridge, we decided to do a 25 min intergration (13 min into morning twilight) on the last exposure of this plate although 15 min might finish the plate.
