Completed some ShakeDown tasks: Spectro Sparse plugged plate Test is done. After checking exposures, addtional 90 sec exposures were taken. Jim's Staring Flats with imager is done. We also mesured the spectro piston position and its possible range for adjustment. We are waiting for the rotator fiducial data. Problem: Spectrographs require a fill every 6 hours or so. Afternoon ============ Imager bias - ok disk-space - ok iccSoundOff - ok ntp_check - ok Spectro focus was checked but no adjustment was made, set for T=13.5. Working with getting new Guider images, have good progress. Night ===== Clouds, high humidity. Cart 6 is mounted. 2:30Z: Because of last night's jump in motor position count reading, we are wondering where the motors really sit now. So we used mechPisto and mechMoveColl to find lower and upper limits of each motor. Knowing limits give us information on temperature ranges that we can focus spectrographs. The current motor poistions are not in the middle of these range. With the setting, we should be able to focus spectrographs with in temperature range: -20 -- + 26 C on both spectrographs. Most likely, the current setting allow us to focus spectro yearly around. We checked the g files and found very low signal there. Run 7654: flat, frame 2, 5 sec exposure, - the lamps were off. flat, frame 3, 100 sec exposure, the level of signal is still about 200 instead 2000. 09:00Z: At 08:24Z, The watcher reported that primary ln2 fill time (FAULT!!! : 2008-08-28 08:24:40Z). Unfornityly, we missed it till 9:00Z. We moved telescope to the stew postion, and did a forced fill, then did cc stopfillseq and cc startfillseg from sop session. At the time, we noticed that CCD was warning up. After the forced fill from the 2nd fill, temperatures started to cool down. The critical alerts email did not issued till 10:46Z. 9:30Z Resumed the imager flat test. Run 7654: flat, frame 4, 200 sec exposure, got count about 230 at g4. flat, frame 5, 800 sec exposure, intend to get 2000 counts to match the count in imager calibration exposure, idR-7588-g4-19.fit. All dark spots apearing in calibration images can be seen at the exact positions in the staring flat test images. At lest, we see that spots do not become weaker in starin flat images. Images are saved in /home/observer/data/photo/optics/54706_staringflat in Phoenix 10:10Z goDrift -bias did not work. return with a message: "statusEntry daqBusy on node ad1 is not 0 but 1 Error: Aborting: system is already busy". Search folklore find a way to fix the problem. issued two comands: im> iccExec [vmeList] readoutAbort and iccExec [vmeList] statusGet daqBusy.
