We completed spectro darks. We attempted dithered flats, but received mechanical motor failures every time we tried. We gathered some signal on cart 7 (plate 3263) and cart 2 (plate 3239). The rotator axis aborted in the middle of two separate exposures. It might have been due to high voltage readings (~24000 in MCP). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- Because of Imager_pump_pre problem. DanL is working on it with imager on the telescope. This keeps us from checking spectro focus and checking telescope. No adjustment ws made to the spectro collimation, so the best focus should still be at 5.5 C. Because of weather conditions and work on the imager, no evening ventilation. Night: ------ 02:25Z - Started ventilating, with the doors and louvers open, fans on. 02:26Z - Unmounted imager and put back in doghouse. Mounted corrector and cartridge 7, SEGUE plate 3263. Did not open because of heavy clouds. 03:27Z - Began dithered flats. Stopped after the second one because the xsigma values are red and yellow. We reset the collimator positions. 03:37Z - Checked and adjusted collimation for ~10C. 04:26Z - Began dithered flats. Failed after 3 flats. Error message below. Took three 900-second exposures. 06:52Z - Clouds started to clear. Opened enclosure. Force filled spectrographs. 07:12Z - goToField cart 7, SEGUE cart 3263. Used an fk5 with a spiralPattern to find the field. First guider frame gimg1466.fits. No stars present within this frame. 07:35Z - Precals. 07:43Z - 30 min exposure. Seeing 1.6". S/N -> 8.9 7.7 10.8 7.1 After the exposure read out, we received the following message: 'Warning: theta offset is large -253.909 > 180 arcseconds.' We noticed that the rotator brake came on due to a large voltage error. We cleared the axis and then went back to the field (used an fk5). 08:31Z - 30 min exposure. Efficiency 65%. Seeing 1.4". S/N -> 7.4 7.5 8.4 5.8 08:48Z - Rotator brake engaged ~20 minutes into exposure. We received the same theta offset error as before. Altitude at 70 degrees. Read out exposure. Obtained enough signal for it to be good. Amplifiers checked out just fine, and there were no axis slips. 09:01Z - Mid-cals. 09:13Z - Slewed back to the field, but had to use an fk5 star with a spiral pattern. 09:35Z - Precals. 09:43Z - 30 min exposure. Seeing 1.5". Lots of clouds.
