APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Friday March 20, 2009 (MJD 54911) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Viktor M Alaina Shelden ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- We had very bad weather until about 09:30Z, at which point we opened. 2 flat field bulbs had to be replaced. Standing by the laptop, the two on top were replaced. We were able to take one image of CArt 8, but clouds came in the middle of it. Telescope had trouble stowing. Once the building was on, it refused to release the altitude brake. Dan Long thinks the sensor to tell if the building is on is bad. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Thick clouds everywhere, sitting and waiting. We now have rain and lightning, so can't change the cartridge for the collimation check. We were able to get mirror numbers, and when we get a chance we'll change cartridges. Bulbs were replaced. Telescope would nbot release the altitude brake once the building was back on. Dan Long thinks the building sensor is bad. Telescope was left at 6 degrees with the spectrograph hoses hooked up.
