The seeing was mostly around 1.7" FWHM, but the first couple hours it was jumping between 1.7" and 2.5" FWHM and the last hour it jumped again, as high as 3.5" FWHM. The brass collar on the sp2 autofill line needs to be reinstalled and possibly needs a new allen screw. Details in the Log section. Cart. 16 would not mount in Auto mode. When it mounted in Manual mode, the primary latches sounded as though they did not make solid contact. This is reminiscent of the issues we had earlier in the Fall when the BOSS cartridges originally only had 3 belleville washers instead of 4. Can anybody confirm that cartridge 16 does indeed have 4 belleville washers on each stirrup bolt? Details in Log section. When we switched to manual mode, it mounted, but did not sound like the primary latches made solid contact. When I say that it wouldn't mount, what I mean is that with the cartridge lifted up (e.g. the slitheads all the way up into the telescope) and the force gauge on the hand paddle up around 1300, when we pushed the Primary Camera Latches button on the Instrument Latch box, the yellow LED would light, but the latches remained in the red-LED position. The slithead latches would latch, but not the primary latches. This behavior was specific only to cart. 16 tonight. The Interlocks display at the laptop showed instrument_lift and lower_stop_buttons "n" both yellow (they were like this for the rest of the night down there as well). When we clicked on the instrument_lift interlock it just said that it was ignoring some value and would not trip an interlock. We had no issues mounting other cartridges even with this yellow state, though. Our Interlocks displays in the control room were normal when we checked them later in the night, though. We're not sure why the different Interlocks would be in disagreement, but we wanted to make the most of the dark clear sky so we decided to mount cartridge 11. After some inspection we found that the brass collar which is used to turn the inner brass teeth part and lock it onto the teeth at the port attached to the spectrograph was not tight against the inner brass piece; more simply, the collar was not tight with the inside piece. The allen screw that needed to be tightened in order to sync the two brass pieces might be stripped because we could not get it to tighten properly. We removed the brass collar altogether and it's sitting on the wooden bench inside the enclosure near the door. We attached the LN2 line without the collar carefully using a pair of plyers to ensure it was tightly atttached to the spectrograph. We double-checked that the pressure was OK and there was no leakage. We forced a fill to make the Critical Alerts go away, too.
