We took some darks and dithered flats during this time and also completed MARVELS cals. We managed to get a few hours on sky at the end of the night and observed cart. 12, 3680 and cart. 11, 3777. SoS was taking a very long time reducing data tonight and while we were on sky it was still reducing flats, so we have no feedback on the doneness of the plates tonight. Both plates were observed under clear skies and with good seeing (~1.6" on average as reported by the guider). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon --------- The afternoon checkout went smoothly. No problems to report. We checked fiducials and mirror numbers. We didn't start ventilation since we were clouded out and it looked to stay that way for the next few hours. Night ----- We ran some loops of darks trying to trigger the PREREADING hang-up for Craig. We were running v2_0_19 and it didn't have any obvious problems that we could see. 00:35Z - sop doCalibs ndark=10 darkTime=900. 03:08Z - Started MARVELS cals. 03:21Z - sop doCalibs ndark=10 darkTime=900. This sequence was aborted about halfway through so that we could try dithered flats instead. 04:55Z - sop ditheredFlat expTime=30 nStep=22 nTick=62. Exposures 107508-107529. 05:54Z - sop ditheredFlat expTime=30 nStep=22 nTick=62. This sequence halted about halfway through due to a motor failure at 06:19Z. 107543 was the last dithered flat that is on disk from this sequence due to the motor failure. 06:26Z - After re-adjusting the collimator positions to where they were prior to beginning dithered flats, we had another motor failure complaint, but the positions were where we expected them to be, so nothing actually failed. 06:28Z - sop ditheredFlat expTime=30 nStep=22 nTick=62.
