But even if we can, we could not observe because of gcamera was still in progress of repear. We made rotator test and confirmed that the focus flip of b1 camera was resolved by tightening of its screws. We made sparse pluged test. Made one more test for spectro wevemid variations. We had a problem with latching of slitheads of sp1. French fixed it. We could not turn r1 focus ring as it was stacked, French helped us also. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon ----------- Arrived at 00:40Z to check with French and Steph on plans for the gcamera and b1. Weather was developing badly. The problem with b1 seems to be in how we handle the locking ring. Talked with French on how to handle it, and took a few sets of hartmanns to get it back in focus. Frames 116220-25. Night ------ It was rain on site. Guider camera did not work so we cannot observe. We did not lost anything as it was rain, radar return, night humidity and lightning on site. Cart 16 plate 4078 was mounted and we proceeded with it. Took boss calibration exposures: bias, dark, flat, arc ff=116233 (1 min warming) sdR-b2-00116233.fit.gz: WARNING: Reject arc. Big wavelength gap from 3500.0004 to 4678.1490 Ang arc f=116234 (2 min warmin). sdR-b2-00116234.fit.gz: WARNING: Big wavelength gap from 3500.0004 to 3983.8390 Ang But it was reduced and not rejected. We need to repeat last night test of series of arcs with az=121,alt=30 and different rotator positions. We were working in enclousre so I disabled AZ aplifier. (121,30,0) ff=116237 (121,30,45), ff=116238 (121,30,90), ff=116239 (121,30,135), ff=116240 (121,30,180), ff=116241 (121,30,135), ff=116242 (121,30,90), ff=116243 (121,30,45), ff=116244 (121,30,0), ff=116245 We checked images b1 and b2 cameras and did not find any focus flip in this series. Probably, the focus problem was fixed. 05:45Z made test arc for 4 positions of motor tilts: tilt=0,100,-100,0 ff=116246-49, 116250-53 In first series I forgot to warm arc lamps and 116246-47 arcs were not reduced. I made another series with 2 min warming. 06:20 Rain was over, and we need to change a cartridge. I found that sp1 slithead latch was off for currently mounted cartridge 16. I tried to latch it on and off but it did not go on. I mounted cart 15 for sparse test, could latch the cartridge, but could not latch sp1 slithead. Interlock protection did not allow me to leave cartridge on telescope without properly latched slitheads. So, we could not mount cartridge on telescope. Called French. He fixed the problem. He is going to send his report. Cart 15 is mounted with parsly plugged plate. We did not load cartridge and plate.
