Looks like we do not need a new pointing model. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- People: After removing all past /data/photo MJDs, we were left with 30% disk space tonight. And during the first half of the night we used 15% of it. So, PLEASE PLEASE remove all the data you are not using/going to use/ or you are keeping "just in case". If we will not have more that 30% disk space for imaging we will have to remove all your data older than one month to do the science next time (if it will happen that we will do imaging all night long, we'll definetely run out of disk space). Thank you :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Afternoon checkout - problems with DA ... seems to be "left overs" from the last night. We have only a few iop windows opened (actualy only two). ptvmeTest showed no non-zero errno (i.e. all is well). We issued ptvmeReset, iop still could not find the tape drives. We then rebooted the crates which fixed the problem. Please see "PROBLEM" section for more detail. 01:22Z Started with imager, bias (run 3432) on the telescope taken, and we setup for stripe 82 S startLamda 126, the one we were observing last night but during nonphotometric conditions. nuErr apeared to be marginal (-17.5), we noticed that offsets after the last night weren't cleared, so we did. And nuErr dropped below 8. Good science data begins on frame 28 at lambda 126 (run 3434). Seeing below 1.5". From frame 170-200, seeing marginal and and bad. The rest of the run was good up to frame 583 lambda 151. 07:13Z After frame 583 lambda 151 we are taking donats for Jim. +300 rel. focus frame: 590 in focus frame 583 -300 rel. focus frame: 595 We put the frames in /data/photo/optics/52577 on sdsshost. All lights indicated that they were"in use". Watcher showed that the tapes were "not loaded" for all but id2. Id2 showed "no init". Since observers saw this "no init" last night and the above message indicate that iop could not see the tape drives, I don't know if the watcher status was truely reflecting the currect status or if it is what the status of the drives were last time watcher got info of the drives. ptvmeTest showed all errno to be equal to 0. We issued few ptvmeReset and initNight, but no success. We decided to reboot the drives at this point. Since the sdsshost has been rebooted shortly before we started the DA checkout, it seemed more logical to me to try rebooting the crates. The reboot of crates seem to have solved the problem and we were able to initNight and then continue on.
