APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Sunday March 21, 2004 (MJD 53086) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Scot Kleinman Atsuko Nitta Visiting Mike Harvanek ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- One plate done in between humidity events. That's all folks. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon checkout went fine, although I did manage to have some fun with the archiver (started a bias before tapes were in). Good practice for keeping my DA chops up. Clouds and humidity prevented an early opening. 02:59Z: After opening and filling the spectros, the liquid valve on the dewar froze open; not having enough hot air on site, we employed a heat gun and unfroze things without busting loose any circuit breakers or tripping any UPSes. 03:04Z: We try cart 7 plate 1760. No GSOTGTF, but an fk5 was found after clearing previous offsets. Clouds are relatively thick, too. 05:28Z: We finished this plate in three long exposures just as humidity was reaching closing limits. We did a postCalib while seeing what the humidity was going to do, then closed. 11:01Z: endNight rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4525 22:17Z 22:29Z 100 O -136.79 -133.80 34 ignore 4526 22:41Z 23:15Z 100 O -130.72 -122.18 71 ignore 4527 00:09Z 00:19Z 100 O -108.59 -106.23 29 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): y QA Procedures Done (y/n): y UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 25753, plate 1760 ------- 22:18 25753 0.0 bias 23:16 25754 10.0 flat 23:18 25755 2.0 arc 01:41 25756 0.0 bias 03:52 25757 10.0 flat 03:55 25758 2.0 arc 04:24 25759 1500.1 target 04:52 25760 1500.1 target 05:25 25761 1800.1 target 05:29 25762 10.0 flat 05:31 25763 2.0 arc DONE ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 03:25Z 7 1760 16.92 0.0066 65.54 0.0004 194.28 -0.0102 1.000000 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL Stays: JL ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 04:13Z 7 1760 1.00021 -2073 -328 250 -12 66.0 4.4 8 119 gdr 1.2 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 22:08Z 48 35 2 264 (W) -9999 - 22:40Z 47 33 2 270 (W) -9999 - 23:12Z 47 33 4 275 (W) -9999 - 23:43Z 45 33 4 355 (NNW) -9999 - 00:15Z 45 33 1 53 (NE) -9999 - 00:47Z 44 34 0 67 (ENE) -9999 - 01:17Z 42 34 10 81 (E) -9999 - 01:48Z 41 34 11 80 (E) -9999 - 02:18Z 40 34 7 89 (E) -9999 - 02:50Z 41 33 8 86 (E) -9999 - 03:20Z 41 33 8 83 (E) -9999 - 03:50Z 41 33 8 107 (ESE) -9999 - 04:21Z 40 32 13 124 (SE) -9999 - 04:51Z 39 32 10 122 (ESE) -9999 - 05:23Z 39 34 17 126 (SE) -9999 - 05:53Z 39 34 18 126 (SE) -9999 - 06:24Z 38 35 14 116 (ESE) -9999 - 06:56Z 38 34 14 117 (ESE) -9999 - 07:28Z 39 34 17 125 (SE) -9999 - 08:01Z 38 35 20 123 (ESE) -9999 - 08:33Z 40 33 16 127 (SE) -9999 - 09:05Z 38 35 18 125 (SE) -9999 - 09:38Z 39 35 18 138 (SE) -9999 - 10:10Z 38 36 14 141 (SE) -9999 - 10:42Z 38 36 13 130 (SE) -9999 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Ventilation begins: ~01:30Z Opened: ~02:30Z Closed (humidity): ~05:35Z ---=== SOFTWARE USED ===--- IOP/SOP: v3_134_0 Watcher: v2_29_0 MCP: v5_25_0 TPM: tpm_v2_38_0 AstroDa: v14_47 TCC: TCC 2.7.2 November 11 2003 sdssProcedures: v1_88 SoS: v4_10_7 hoggPT: v1_6_9 plate-mapper: v4_3_1 ---=== MIRROR NUMBERS ===--- PRIMARY: -------- Scale: 1.000000 MIGS TONIGHT NOMINAL Axial A 0.5390 0.5450 Axial B 0.6250 0.6270 Axial C 1.0980 1.0950 Trans D -8.4430 -8.4490 Lateral E 10.8077 10.7950 Lateral F 10.8331 10.8331 GALILS Commanded: 4600. -2850. 850. -9250. 18400. 17850.
