We have finished two spectro plates (2511 and 2514). Also, we observed stripes: 1660 N with mu=220-232 (including ramps) and it's done, then we observed 1140 N with mu=278-333, but that stripe was observed in variable seeing condition see the log. Problems: --------- We have problem with manipulator to put cartridges to the bay. Wendell is working hard whole night to fix a problem. We left one "done" cartridge mounted on telescope, and other "done" cartridge we left on the cart inside enclosure. There is a problem with stripe 290 N. When we scanstripe the telescope to mu, say 294, tccmon will say mu is 280, so we have mu 10 degrees off. goDrift then says that the telescope is not in the place it thinks it is. Could someone check on that stipe please? The dust level did not go up more then 2150 counts and we do not need to clean the mirror today. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- The telescope has been checked and is ready for observations. All systems work properly. During the checking Steph needed to reboot Photo1 crate as the watcher complaines about no responce. The rebooting is solve the problem. The spectro focus is checked and the systems are ajusted for current 14C. Night: ------- The weather condition is good for observations, Clear, photometric, T=14.3C, Humidity 17.2%, wind 19.7 mph, dust 1800. It is good time for imaging, but there was no stripes availble for evening time. Started observations at 3:00 Cart 2, plate 2514 Used Fk5 stars to find the stars. The plate has previous obtained signal s/n=7 on MJD 53878. 2:26 PreCalibration 3:27(exposure 900),3:45(expos 600) DoNextScience. The plate is "Done" with today's s/n=10.1 and with total s/n=17.1. File is 39448. We re-plug cartridge 1 it with new plate 1796. QA checked: bias f=39441: b1 1247/1012, b2 1200/1181, r1 1176/1220, r2 450/1360. flat f=39446; arc f=39447; science for the plate and sky for f=39448. After we replaced the cartridge on telescope, we could not operate the manipulator because it was stuck in its lowest position and we could not move it up. Our research of the problem did not help. We called to Wendell for consultation. He could not help us by telephone and he desided to help us personaly. He came to the site and is working hard to fix the problem. Cartridge 1, plate 2511 Go to field using Fk5 stars. 4:10 Pre-calibration 4:16 (exposure 900), 4:34 (900), 4:52(exposure 700) - DoNextScience The plate is DONE with min s/n=14.2, File=39452 Replace cartridge 1 plate 2511 with plate 1800. QA checked: science for whole plate and sky f=39452. The weather is good and we started to do imaging. (We could not do spectroscopy anyway until we fix the problem with manipulator). Run 6176. Last part of Stripe 1660 N. 05:40 Ramp started at mu=220, frame 23 . 05:48 Science started at mu=222, frame 36. Skippy is happy, we are in focus, seeing is good (~1.3"), and the sky is photometric. 06:20 Science ends with mu=230, frame 89. 06:28 ramp ends at mu=232, frame 103. Run 6177. Stripe 1140 N. 06:46 Ramp started at mu=278, frame 26. Skippy is happy, seeing is good (~1.5"), and the sky is photometric, focus is good. 06:54 Science started at mu=280, frame 39 (4 min early) Start Twilight mu=331.7m frame 384 end run mu=333.5, frame 395 (6 minuts past twilight) The seeing conditions on this stripe were: frames 89-286 mix of good and acceptable 269-317 bad 318-395 good 10:30Z Run 6178, imager bias on telescope. The manipulator is still not operable and in progress of testing. We could not replace cartridges so we left cartridge #1 on the carti in the enclosure, #2 mounted on the telescope (to replace the imager) and both are done.
