Problem: 1) We see FWHMs of the most right column CCDD chips are wider than others in super Nova scans (but not in oblique scan). (see probelm section) donuts data was taken in morning twilight and saved in /home/observer/data/photo/54005-donuts. can someone take a look at the data? 2) During the on-telescope bias run, we noticed that there were some features across the 21st frame of id3 display, and that the 24th frames of the id3 showed different colors. We checked the data, found that the features on the frame 21 are real, but no evidence of bias level variation on frame 24 (see log). If someone wants to check these frames, a copy of the data can be found in sdsshost2:/home/kpan/check. 3) cloud camera images had the second defect bar. 4) SP1 would not start filling when we did a force fill before open. But this may due to the fact the autofill system just filled the dewar 40 minutes before (see problem section). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon Checkout: ------------------ 01:20 Z. Clear, almost photometric, T=11.6C, humidity 67%, wind 6.5 mph, dust less than 400 counts. All systems are checked and work fine. Spectro focus has been adjusted for 9.5C. Fritz replaced ad4 board. Night: ------ 00:30Z mounted imager. 00:40Z run 6399, closed doors, took on-telescopr bias. During the run we noticed that there were some features (bars) across the 21st frames of id3 display, and the 24th frame of the id3 display showed different colors from their other corresponding frames (looked as frame 24 had different bias levels). We got all fit files for frame number 20, 21, 24, and 25, and stored them in /home/kpan/check. saoDisplay showed that there are some bars across images (at less on u3 of frame 21, file: idR-006399-u3-0021.fit). saoDisplay did not showed any evidence of bias level changing on frame 24. We created IRAF images for id3 frames, and image statistics do not show any evidence of bias level variation either. Here is the image statistics from IRAF. EndDrift at 03:57, frame #219, lambda 145.1. 04:00Z run 6401. 82 S. Focus, pointing, and seeing were good from very begining. ramp started at frame # 12, (lambda 124). Science started at frame 26, lambda 126. Due to the high humidity, we enddrift at 04:50Z, at frame # 83, lambda 134.6. 05:35Z run 6402, 82 S. Focus, pointing, seeing were good from the begining. ramp started at frame 12, lambda 150. Science started at frame 26, lambda 152. 08:10Z, we the SN scan at frame 266 (lambda -172), and switch to oblique scan which has higher priority. 08:12Z run 6403, Oblique 206 O. In focus from the begining, seeing was about 1.1". Skipp does not work from this scan. Presumablly, pointing was good. endDrift at 09:05Z at frame 98. 09:14 run 6404, 82 S. When switch back to 82 S, tcc hang on. Took a few minutes to get it back. Focus, pointing, and seeing were good from frame 12, lambda -160.3. science ended at frame 245 , lambda -125. ramp ended at frame 261, lambda -123. 11:40Z run 6405, took donuts data. Frame 11 was in focus, frame 14 was defocus by -300, frame 18 was by +300. The data was stored in /home/observer/data/photo/54005-donuts. 12:40Z endNight finished. We stop the filling, and restarted it. SP1 still would not start. Because the autofill system just filled the dewars 40 minutes before, this may just due to the SP1 valve was frozen. Because SP1 got a fill just before we open, we decided to ignore this but keep a eye on the spectro camera. Telescope collimation: ----------------------- During SN scans, we noticed that FWHMs of ccd chips on the right column of watcher fwhm windows consistently showed wider widths. On average, ccd chips on the most right column (# 76, 16, 26, 36, 46, 56) has about 0.2 wider FWHMs than those on the most left column (ccd # 71,11,21,31,41,51). Is this due to telescope collimation? However, we did see this fwhm phenomenon in the oblique scan 206 O. In twilight, we took donuts data that was stored /home/observer/data/photo/54005-donuts.
