APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Wednesday June 27, 2007 (MJD 54279) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Dan Oravetz Audrey Simmons Justin Crepp (UF) Suvrath Mahadevan ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- ET Science! ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- The night was lost due to clouds, radar returns, lightning, high wind, high dust, and high humidity throughout the night. Note: We had problems turning on all four neon lamps during afternoon checkout most likely because we were running on generator power. After site power was resotred, the lamps worked fine. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- When we tested the flat-field lamps during checkout, we noticed that only one neon lamp worked (the one at the bottom left), but the FF and HgCd lamps were all working. Twenty minutes later the Ne lamps were checked again and luckily all of them came on. We believe that the power bumps we experienced put the site temporarily on generator power, which made the lamps have problems. Once site power was restored, they all behaved properly again. Other than that, the afternoon checkout went smoothly. Night: ------ We never opened because of radar returns, clouds, lightning, high wind, high humidity, and high dust. 09:59Z - endNight rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): N/A QA Procedures Done (y/n): N/A UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 45582, plate -9999 ------- 00:49 45582 0.0 bias 00:56 45583 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 23:56Z 65 44 7 92 (E) 582 - Cloudy 00:28Z 63 45 11 81 (E) 488 - " 01:00Z 62 45 19 73 (ENE) 510 - " 01:32Z 61 41 25 72 (ENE) 515 - " 02:04Z 60 36 12 77 (ENE) 437 - " 02:36Z 61 36 9 334 (NNW) 864 - " 03:08Z 59 38 7 356 (NNW) 1922 - " 03:40Z 60 36 1 24 (NNE) 1346 - " 04:12Z 59 36 7 9 (N) 1287 - " 04:45Z 60 36 3 2 (N) 1298 - " 05:15Z 60 36 11 34 (NE) 988 - " 05:45Z 59 36 15 62 (ENE) 925 - " 06:15Z 60 35 7 356 (NNW) 765 - " 06:45Z 61 32 17 36 (NE) 645 - " 07:15Z 56 44 17 60 (ENE) 771 - " 07:48Z 54 46 18 75 (ENE) 822 - " 08:20Z 53 48 15 84 (E) 1135 - " 08:52Z 46 42 33 57 (ENE) 243 - " 09:24Z 45 43 30 71 (ENE) 300 - " 09:57Z 45 43 27 53 (NE) 238 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Enclosure remained on, doors and louvers remained closed, and fans remained off.
