The spectro chiller pressure is very low. However, we could not find any spilled glycol on the floor in the upper or lower enclosure. We also checked the chiller-pump motor; it's turning. We next talked to French. Since we were not doing BOSS science, he said that it was okay to turn off the motor until it could be checked on Friday morning. Notes from Steph: ----------------- During the afternoon, Jon installed STUI 0.6.0 on landru and minidru. We started testing Russell's new SOP GUI. Taking a bias and dark worked well, although it failed on our very first bias exposure and we needed a "boss clearExposure". Craig had been taking bias exposures earlier. We then tested the arcs and flats from SOP GUI. The good news: A sequence of 1 arc, 1 flat takes the flat first, then starts the arc warmup during readout of the flat, and provides a warmup time of four minutes or so. Also, if you ask for more than one arc exposure, the lamps stay on during readout. The bad news: The default exposure times for the flat and arc are reversed. The arc should be 4 sec., the flat 30. We also need a full hartmann sequence made available as part of "Do Calibs". The hartmann in "Go To Field" should be the quick subarray hartmann. Paul then tested the go To Field inside the enclosure, bypassing the slew, of course. It followed the same sequence with taking a flat and guider flat, arc warmup time, arc, quick hartmanns, and first guider image as the command-line "sop gotoField". Night: ------ 02:03Z Sunset with clouds, so we waited. 02:30Z MARVELS ThAr lamp on. 03:45Z 12 degree twilight 03:42Z 18 degree twilight 05:35Z Enclosure off to do some gotoField tests of sop GUI with cart 14. We had no problems. Scope went to field, did hartmanns, calibs, guider flat, and first guider image. Guider flat, however, was not displayed in guiderGUI. Russell also did some gotoInstChange tests, which also worked. 06:35Z Mounted cart 07 and did a loadCart. The sop gui did not recognize this cart as MARVELS and, therefore, did not turn off the hartmans and calibs for gotoField. Guider flat was not displayed in guiderGUI. We also noticed that there's no way to select the pointing=B for MARVELS carts in the sopGUI. Started MARVELS science. Completed a 50 minute exposure with bad seeing and some scattered clouds.
