At the end of scanning, the clouds moved over 30 deg above the horizon, but it was clear sky were we were pointing all the time. We stopped the scan when clouds were 20 deg from telescope pointing position. Also we've done two plates tonight: cart 5 plt 1345 and cart 7 plt 1354. The dust level raised quickly on postcalib after the last exposure, and we ended up running to close telescopes. When we were done, the dust counts was over 13000 counts! But the telescope was exposed to it only for 3-5 minutes. TPM and other watcher errors are shown in the problems section. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift: ------------ The murmur server did not start cleanly after the daily 'host reboot and had to be manually restarted. Other than that, there were no problems during checkout. Spectro focus adjusted. Details at end of problems section. We got windscreen touch (and one during the night): altitude (Windscreen touched in altitude: UP (2003-06-24 01:02:33Z sdssmcp): 2003-06-24 01:02:40Z ) Steph says, the problem with DIMM pointing is not connected with time setting, but she doesn't know, what it is in that case. Night ----- We mounted the imager at the evening, hoping that we can get at least 1h of data, before clouds will arrive. 03:20Z Started with bias on the telescope (run: 4006). 03:45Z Sience run 4007, 10 minutes in twilight. Stripe 25, S - good since the beginning: frame 11, lambda 16.3. Skippy is very happy (the offsets from previous night spectroscopy observations were not cleared). 03:57Z Lambda 19, frame 30 - begininning of the stripe and beginning of the night. 04:25Z We see clouds below 30 deg - we are still good, and cloud camera std is 6.77. 04:43Z Clouds crosed alt 30 deg, but still they did not passed the field of view of out telescope. The run was stopped, when clouds approached 20 deg distance from where we were pointing: 04:47Z Drift ended - lambda 32, frame 115, since from 04:30Z the weather wasn't phtotometric, but clouds were NOT in the filed of vew of the telescope, we formally called the quality of the run "unknown". But in our opinion, the quality of this run was good. 05:05Z We changed to spectroscopy. ---------------------------------- 05:05Z Cart 5 plt 1345 mounted. Stars on slew. Done in three exposures. 06:24Z Cart 7 plt 1354 mounted, stars on slew. Done with three exposures. 07:27Z Dust too high - we switched off the fans, and finished postcalib, then closed the telescope in a hurry.
