APACHE POINT OBSERVATORY SDSS 2.5M OBSERVING LOG Sunday March 20, 2005 (MJD 53450) ---=== OBSERVING TEAM ===--- Steph Snedden ET Team: Jian Ge (UF) Curtis Dewitt (UF) Abishek Hariharan (UF) Julian Van Eyken (UF) Xiaoke Wan (UF) Bo Zhao (UF) ---=== OBSERVING PLAN ===--- ET engineering and testing. ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- More engineering progress made, but no on-sky time. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- The night started out windy, dusty and cloudy. It cleared out at approx. 05:00Z with dust and wind stabilizing at acceptable levels. 05:20Z Mounted cartridge 6, plate E8006. 05:31Z Opened enclosure doors, but left fans off so the ET team could continue working in relative quiet. 06:00Z: More orographic clouds forming. We aren't ready to go on-sky yet, anyway. 10:52Z Humidity starting to climb. The ET team was still working on replacing the beamsplitter they brought with the set of stacked beamsplitters they put together here. The original beamsplitter's transmission varied with polarization in a way that wasn't acceptable. Also, some time was spent dealing with throughput that varied with temperature. Progress was made, but it looks like we won't go on-sky tonight. 11:05Z Closed the doors. endNight ran on cloudy night tapes. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): QA Procedures Done (y/n): UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 31494, plate -9999 ------- 01:02 31494 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL N/A Stays: JL N/A ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:46Z 38 21 28 263 (W) 1102 - 01:18Z 36 20 28 255 (WSW) 2787 - 01:50Z 35 21 20 260 (W) 2017 - 02:22Z 34 23 21 270 (W) 2219 - 02:54Z 33 23 28 273 (W) 2118 - 03:27Z 33 23 26 269 (W) 1165 - 03:59Z 32 23 15 268 (W) 1946 - 04:31Z 31 18 21 281 (W) 1352 - 05:03Z 31 9 23 291 (WNW) 571 - 05:35Z 30 7 9 285 (WNW) 529 - 06:07Z 29 8 9 258 (WSW) 586 - 06:39Z 29 10 13 289 (WNW) 731 - 07:12Z 28 14 10 282 (WNW) 763 - 07:44Z 27 15 11 304 (NW) 894 - 08:16Z 27 16 4 343 (NNW) 831 - 08:48Z 26 16 7 359 (NNW) 872 - 09:20Z 26 16 6 339 (NNW) 770 - 09:52Z 25 16 17 306 (NW) 872 - 10:24Z 25 17 7 331 (NNW) 866 - 10:57Z 24 18 8 348 (NNW) 851 - 11:29Z 24 18 1 311 (NW) 832 - 12:01Z 24 18 4 322 (NW) 898 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 05:31Z Dors opened. 11:05Z Doors closed.
