This was her first time driving and she did just fine with a minimum of driving instructor moments for Steph :). The weather wasn't terribly cooperative, giving us 2+ arcsecond seeing much of the night. Despite that and significant moon the first half of the night we finished 3 plates (7 2336, 3 2301, 5 2276) and got signal on two others (4 2314, 6 2100). It was also quite cold, ranging between -3 and -8 C. This may have been the culprit for the two aborts in azimuth we had slewing away from instrument change around 05:50Z. The DIMM is also suffering from an azimuth ailment which prevented us from running it, possibly cold related as well. Other than these two hiccups the night went smoothly. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Spectro collimation was checked but no adjustment was made. A postCal showed all the x/wsigma values to be in spec. The one value that was in the yellow was probably because the spectrographs are too warm. Since we anticipate a cold night, we did not correct for this. No problems to report. It aborted after moving only a couple tenths of a degree. It was trying to move counterclockwise which was the same direction we had trouble with when it last got very cold (below -7C). We didn't get to confirm it, but the behavior is the same as before when the windbaffle wasn't moving out of the way of the telescope fast enough. There was also an altitude too large to correct error of about 2500 counts on the slew. Got two 20 minute exposures before the end of the night came and shut us down. 12:45Z Enclosure Closed, Fans Off endNight was unhappy upon not being able to find the directory /skycat/oplogs/astrolog/53712, which is the current MJD. Why this directory didn't exist isn't clear. Steph created it and reran endNight.
