Today at night - a maximum of a meteoric stream Leonids. We could see traces of meteors on many frames! Run 6571, Supernova, lambda between 120 and 157 including ramps. There was a bad seeing of 1.4-1.5" (frames 39-89) Run 6572, Segue, 1356 S, mu between 12 and 48 including ramps. Run 6573, Segue, 1356 S, mu between 92 and 131 including ramps. Run 6574, Segue, 1458 S, mu between 119 and 149 including ramps. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- Clear sky, temp ~9C, wind ~5mph. All systems checked and working. The spectrograph focus was changed last night to ~7C but after running 'collimate' today (without making any changes) and using the internal temperatures from the 'mechsend' command (see problems) it looks like it is set for ~4C (It's asking for mechPiston movements of ~7900 and ~7700 steps). No adjustment has been made. The PT Watcher was shut off per Eric Neilsen's request to help diagnose the PT problem. Night: ------- 23:20Z - Doors Open, Fans On, Louvers Open 23:58Z - mounted Imager 00:13Z - close Doors for Imager Biases 00:15Z - Run 6570 - on telescope bias 00:50Z - opened enclosure 01:19Z - Run 6571, Supernova 82 S start lambda 120. Skippy is happy from the beginning. The focus of secondary started to follow the guider lines from the frame 14. On plot it appears slightly (+/-10) outside of both guidence lines even tccMon show valued between them. We issued "setFocus 20" but at first time it produced error message, and at the next times it moved secondary inside the range, but loop moved it outside. It is inside from frame 140. Start rump from lambda=122 (frame 18) at 1:26, twilight time, and start science from lambda 126, frame 44. Seeing is good frames 1-38, bad 1.2-1.7" 39-89, and very good 1.2"-1.4" from frame 90 to end of drift. 03:45Z - endDrift on Run 6571, frame 251, lambda 157 deg. 03:51Z - Segue, Run 6572. 1356 S mu=12 to 48 including ramps. In focus by frame 20; Skippy is happy from the beginning. Science from mu=14, frame 18. Frames 1-49 seening bad : 1.4-1.6 arcsec. 06:22Z - Segue, Run 6573. 1356 S mu=92 to 131 including ramps. In focus at begin, skippy is happy from the beginnig. Nu Err. ~8.5" on start rump. Science from mu=96, frame 39. The seening good all stripe. 09:14Z - Segue, Run 6574. 1458 S mu=119 to 149 including ramps. In focus at begin, skippy is happy from the beginnig. Nu Err. between ~8.5" and 10" at that stripe. Science from mu=121, frame 31. The seening good at whole stripe. 11:22Z End of science & ramp, frame 2211, lambda 149.5 11:45Z Switching to spectroscopy Cart 4, Plate 2477, 11:50Z Gotofield, AZ axis aborted at ~60 degr. We tryed several times, then, at ~12:10Z AZ axis is done. By the reason of twilight we closed the telescope etc. 12:15Z Enclsosure Closed, Louvers Closed, Fans Off 12:30Z endNight rejoiced normally.
