We continue to see the guide fiber pattern shifted about half a fiber width in the direction of fiber 11 (to the right in a simpleMon frame) from the nominal position. The fallout of this is the need for two guiderFlats to get the overlay to match the fiber position. It also puts fiber 11 close enough to the edge of the frame that it isn't always used for guiding. Lastly it often puts fiber 6 on a place on the chip with a strong hot pixel which the guider software thinks is the star (this might possibly be cured by new guider darks). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- The afternoon checkout went well with no new problems to report. However, we are still getting the Watcher message about the sp1 mechanicals not being connected although sp1 seems to work fine.
