Watcher and tpm complained several times about high Rot and Az currents. This condition happened during tracking and slews, however, higer currents resulted from slews in a positive direction. See Log for more details. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ----------- Watcher reported sp2 mechanicals as "Not connected." Watcher reported a Rot current problem (High Rot Drive Current:: 2006-12-31 22:19:54Z) I changed both inst dewars. Night: ------------ 00:50Z Cart 08, plate 8032. Used an Fk5 to find the field in bright twilight. Completed one 50-minute exposure. During the exposure above, Watcher complained that the azCurrent was too high. I talked with French, and he said that the current was still in spec. The mcp reported about -5000 in Az (up to about -10,000 was still okay). 02:06Z Cart 04, plate 8030. Completed one 50-minute exposure. 04:52Z Watcher complained, "currents (High Rot Drive Current:: 2007-01-01 04:49:14Z)" And, I noticed that there was a red, flashing bar above the Rot current box in the tpm. Tpm display the Rot current as 1000+. Completed one 50-minute exposure. 05:25Z Cart 06, plate 8016. Guide stars on goToField. Completed one 50-minute exposure. As the scope slew to the field, Watcher and tpm complained about the Rot current. It seemed to be worse when slewing in a positive direction. 06:45Z Cart 09, plate 8017. Guide stars on goToField.
