We gained signal on the following plates in photometric conditions: Cart 3, plate 2893 Cart 4, plate 2786 - FINISHED Cart 6, plate 2779 - FINISHED Cart 7, plate 1819 - FINISHED We lost ~20 minutes of science time when Kaike's guider monitor quit updating. He restarted his sop session and worked with a startMon -simple the rest of the night (see log and problem section for details). We were not able to get the cloud camera to upload images. The IRSC control window showed that the camera was running, but no images were uploading onto the website. Note: We accumulated ~15000 dust-hours on the telescope tonight. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- The spectro focus was checked but not adjusted; it's set for about +5.0 degrees C. The spectro numbers via collimate are posted in the Problems Section. Night: ------ 05:51Z - Started ventilating with the doors and louvers open, fans on. The wind died down to gusts of 34mph. The dust was still a little high (~3000), but it looked like it was decreasing slowly. 06:10Z - Opened enclosure to clear, photometric skies. 06:11Z - Mounted cart 3, segue179 plate 2893. GSFOGTF by applying slight offsets. Efficiency was low, seeing was bad (~3"). 06:46Z - Precals. 06:53Z - 15 min exposure. Seeing 2.2" (most likely because of the wind and since the telescope is not equillibrated yet). We declared this exposure BAD in SOS, thinking that we did not gain enough signal, but it might be good afterall (or at least can be counted as extra signal). APO_FIX did not allow us to change the 'BAD' quality back to 'EXCELLENT'. 07:18Z - 20 min exposure. Seeing drastically improved - 1.4". 07:40Z - Postcals. This plate is not yet finished. Note: We did not bother opening the DIMM. We figured that the wind would rattle it around and not take accurate measurements. 07:46Z - Mounted cart 4, chunk165 plate 2786. GSFOGTF. 08:02Z - Precals. 08:08Z - 15 min exposure. Seeing 2.0" 08:26Z - 20 min exposure. 08:49Z - 20 min exposure. 09:12Z - 800 sec exposure. We acrewed enough signal to declare this plate DONE. 09:28Z - Mounted cart 6, chunk165 plate 2779. Kaike's guider monitor quit updating after he issued a goToField command and then a gcam command. After several attempts to stopMon/startMon/showGuiderFrame, we kept on getting this error back: 'Star 2 does not fit in a 450*450 region' (see problem section for the entire error message) We fixed the problem by restarting his sop session and issuing a startMon -simple (as instructed to do within Folklore). Everything behaved normally afterwards. 09:50Z - GSFOGTF. 09:57Z - Precals. 10:03Z - 15 min exposure. Seeing 1.3" 10:21Z - 750 sec exposure. 10:37Z - 750 sec exposure.
