High humidity, clouds, and radar returns kept us closed all night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Howard had to hard-reboot the spectro crates when he came in. He was unable to take a spectro bias and received "dac is busy" messages. He tried a soft reboot to begin with, but the spectro monitors in the control room came back with a pale purple color instead of the usual blue, so he then power-cycled the spectro crates and things came back normal and responsive. Spectro focus set for ~12C. Collimate numbers are in Problems section. We discovered that the MARVELS plates do not have plugMapM files. In past years, ET plugMapM files were hand-generated. We cannot guide without the plugMapM files, so enough of a plugMapM file needs to be in place for us to guide. Brian and Scot, in addition to others MARVELS folks, are working on a fix that could include taking a plugMapP file and copying it to a plugMapM file and then modifying the plugMapM file so that the telescope software is happy enough and we can properly guide. We talked with the MARVELS team about how to deal with the plugMapM file issue some more, but are stuck wondering how we dealt with the ET plates (that weren't mapped) in the past.
