Added signals on SEGUE 2 plate: 3186. Obtained exposures on MARVELS plates: 3078A (c9), 3078B, 3088A (c1), 3088B, 3089B, 3091A, 3091B. Declared Marvels-pre plates 3002 (Observed on mjd 54844) and 3003 (observed on mjd 54845) done. Updated the database for plate 3184 (observed on mjd 54845). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- All systems were checked and working properly. SoS still has problem in reducing the data. Jon killed old processes and restarted it. So We do not have feed back from SoS, but collimate says the spectro graph was set for about 1 C. Started ventilation at 23:10Z 00:10Z According to forecasting, wind speed is low, below 5 mph, and wind was below 5 mph and at favorite direction Northwest at the moment so we decided to mount the imager and take on-telescope bias in the enclusre. Night: ------ 00:30Z Run # 7904, on-telecope bias. 01:00Z Enclosure off. 01:30Z Run # 7905, 83 S. 01:42Z started ramp at lambda 171.50, frame 28. 01:50Z, started science at lambda 173.50, frame number 42. As sson as twilight ended, the wind changed its direction to Northeast as it often does when we mounted the imager before twilight. 02:10Z, wind direction change more forward to the east, and seeing got worse. The trend look really bad, so we decided to switch to spectroscopy. the run ended at frame 80. It 02:25Z Cart 7, plate 3186 (SEGUE2) After switching back to spectro, Howard's sop session hung, he started a new sop session but cann't grabe the instrument, he had to kill the session and logout the ports. 15 min was lost due to the problem. 02:30Z we found aporsync_blue job hung again, so killed the process. It restart itself later and sos works again. 01:55Z pre-calib. We obtained two 30 min exposures on this plate. The total S/N^2 is 48. Please be aware that ./plate 3186 will give the total S/N^2 included exposures from last run with different MapM files. 04:25Z cart 9, plate 3078A (Marvels). FK5 and spiralPattern was used to acquire the field. 50 minutes exposure and calibration. Seeing at 1.4" 05:45Z cart 9, 3078B (marvels). 50 mintues exposure and calibration. 06:50Z cart 1, plate 3088A (marvels). It took some effort (7 min) to find the FK5 star. The offset for AZ is found to be 40"! 50 min exposure, and calibration. Seeing at 1.1 08:10Z cart 1, 3088B (marvels). SOGTF. 50 min exposure and calibreation. Seeing at 1.1 09:15Z: cart 5, 3089B (marvels). FK5 was used for acquiring the field. 50 min exposure plus calibraion. Seeing at 1.1 10:25Z cart 4, plate 3091A.
