We ran some tests on the B1 focus ring problem; see log. We did dithered flats for Carts 14, 15, 16, and 18. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Checkout at the telescope was without problems, although it was minimal, given the likelihood of opening is very small. Actors tested and found to be alive and well. Fiducials were checked. Ventilation was not started. Completely overcast at sunset. Night: ----- We investigated the problem with the Hartmann results last night. We had a look at the b1 arc on cartridge 10 and we do see one fiber bundle that is offset from the others. Could this be the source of the problem? The next step was to see if b1 ring moves make sense on a different cartridge. We started with cartridge 18 (sp1 fiber bundles should be good). Here are the cartridge 18 hartmann results after collimators were moved to be in focus. Next, the test was repeated on a different cartridge. 02:00Z Cart 14 was mounted and the above tests were done again. This time, however, we moved both blue rings, did hartmans, moved the rings back to original positions, and did hartmans again. We noticed that B2 behaved normally, but there was a repeatability problem with B1.
