This file should be deleted before copying the unittestpio directory onto the trunk. Issues to deal with: 1) First example of pio_initdecomp from webpage is not supported. pio_initdecomp(iosystem,PIO_int,dims,start,count,iodesc) "pio_support::pio_die:: myrank= -1 : ERROR: piolib_mod.f90: 441 : subroutine not yet implemented" 2) Can not open a binary file with PIO_write and put data in it. "write_mpiio_int: after call to file_write_all:MPI_ERR_READ_ONLY: file is read only pio_support::pio_die:: myrank= -1 : ERROR: iompi_mod.F90: 230 : (no message)" 3) When "creating" a binary file that already exists with PIO_CLOBBER (which is ignored), file is not emptied. "warning, the mode argument is currently ignored for binary file operations" 4) When creating a binary file to write data using PIO_iotype_direct_pbinary, file is 32767 times larger than same file written with PIO_iotype_pbinary Note: this is on my laptop... on Frankfurt and Yellowstone, using PIO_iotype_direct_pbinary leads to MPI crashing: Frankfurt --------- "write_mpiio_int after call to file_set_view:MPI_ERR_ARG: invalid argument of so me other kind pio_support::pio_die:: myrank= -1 : ERROR: iompi_mod.F90: 223 : (no message)" Yellowstone ----------- "write_mpiio_int after call to file_set_view:Invalid argument, error stack: MPI_ FILE_SET_VIEW(57): Invalid displacement argument pio_support::pio_die:: myrank= -1 : ERROR: iompi_mod.F90: 223 : (no message)" 5) For tests where we expect failure (e.g. writing a file that was opened nowrite) I am just checking for ret_val.ne.0 - should I compare to an exact error val? 6) PIO_openfile hangs in netcdf input / output tests when stride < ntasks: stride = 1 with 2 tasks on my laptop stride = 2 with 4 tasks on frankfurt stride = 4 with 8 tasks on caldera (all 3 cases run fine with stride = ntasks) FIXED ----- ** Can not suppress MPI-IO warning message if file does not exist. "open_mpiio: after call to MPI_file_open:MPI_ERR_NO_SUCH_FILE: no such file or directory" Solution: added CheckMPI optional flag to iompio_mod.F90.in::PIO_openfile and piolib_mod.F90::PIO_openfile ** Test netcdf file (3*ntasks integers) is always 4096 bytes, while pnetcdf file is (80 + 12*ntasks) bytes Solution: not actually a problem
